July 4th - Resident Block Party Update

Resident Block Party Update – The deadline to request approval for a July 4th block party is 3:00 pm on July 2, 2020 (typically the Village requires a 30-day notice). Please fill out the Block Party Request form (…/…/Block-Party-Request) and send it via email ( or drop it off in person to Assistant Village Manager Tim Blakeslee.

Due to the increased number of block party requests for the 4th of July, the Village will not be able to provide barricades for your block party. As a result, you will have to supply your own barricades (cars are not permitted). If the party continues after dark, all barricades must have lights in some fashion as to pass on-site inspection by the Police Department.

Although we want you to have a great party, there are some rules and regulations that must be observed: Section 8.01(3)(a) makes it unlawful to discharge fireworks within the Village of Whitefish Bay. Section 8.02(12) makes it unlawful to operate any loudspeaker or amplifier, which is audible for a distance of one hundred feet from such instrument, or to disturb the peace of any person in the Village. Skateboard ramps are not allowed in roadways at any time.

Please remember, you and your neighbors will be responsible for the clean-up of the block/street of all trash and debris following the party. The Village encourages and supports block parties as a way of promoting friendly neighborhoods. For that reason, it is important that everyone on your block is invited.
